Diminishing Facial Wrinkles & Folds With Dermal Fillers.
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or enhance facial contours. More than 1 million men and women annually choose this popular facial rejuvenation treatment, which can be a cost-effective way to look younger without surgery or downtime.
Loss of facial volume occurs as a normal part of aging, and deepens smile lines and marionette lines while decreasing fullness over the cheekbones. In the hands of an experienced practitioner at Skin Med Spa & Laser, dermal fillers can help restore volume, diminish wrinkles and generate a natural and more youthful look.
Facial dermal fillers, such as Juvederm XC, are powerful solutions in achieving these results.

Benefits
• Relatively inexpensive, especially when compared to plastic surgery procedures
• Requires no allergy testing, as the hyaluronic acid it contains is human-based and safe
• Smoothing and plumping up of both deep facial wrinkles and creases are immediately apparent
• Can also be used to safely augment the lips
Juvederm®
Juvederm® is a cosmetic treatment referred to as a filler. It’s used to restore facial contours and improve signs of aging. It’s an injectable dermal filler with a base of hyaluronic acid. It’s a treatment that focuses on the face, specifically the cheeks, lips, and around the mouth. Getting treated with JUVÉDERM® helps add volume to different areas of the face without surgery while also temporarily restoring the volume loss beneath the surface.

How Juvederm® Works
Juvederm® products are a smooth consistency gel, compared to some hyaluronic gel products that have a granular consistency. Hyaluronic acid works by holding in water at the injection site and acting as a cushioning agent. It adds temporary volume and a smoother appearance to skin. Juvederm XC products also contain the local anesthetic lidocaine for a more comfortable injection as this numbs the treatment area within seconds.

Frequently asked questions
How much Juvederm serum is used per treatment area?
You’ll likely get one to two syringes full of Juvederm injected into each area. You may need less or more depending on your specific concerns.
How is Juvederm different from Botox or Dysport?
Botox and Dysport work to inhibit muscle movements that control certain facial motions. Juvederm is a filler that corrects lines, wrinkles and skin hollowness that are noticeable when the face is at rest.
When will results be seen?
You should see results the same day of your treatment after your session is complete.
What should you not do before Juvederm?
Around 48 hours before treatment, you should stop using topical anti-aging ointments, serums, and creams. This essentially boils down to products that contain glycolic acid, retinoids, retinol, and Retin-A. These can irritate skin and negatively impact your treatment outcomes.
What to expect after Juvederm injections?
Swelling and bruising usually subside within 24-48 hours. However, hyaluronic acid fillers attract water. So you may have extra fullness in the areas injected, that should resolve within 10-14 days when the results soften, and further enhancements become visible.
Can I sleep on my face after Juvederm?
It is best to sleep on your back and keep your head elevated for 24 hours. Avoid sleeping on your face for a week after the treatment.
